Now I really had no choice but to follow up Mom's awesome post from yesterday with this track, all because of the memory and association I have…

I think it first needs to be addressed that I, like so many other young 80′s kids from this time period who didn't know better, really believed it was Chevy Chase singing this song just as he appeared in the music video!

OK so back in the 80′s when i was in elementary school, we had a talent show..

Me and a friend came up with cooky skit whereby he played an explorer/archeologist and he creepily happens upon this full size coffin, all completely done up with hieroglyphics. During this particular sequence, all dimly lit mind you, we had the track from yesterday's post, Duran Duran's "Tiger Tiger" playing… so that's the scary build-up ok..

He opens the coffin and I'm in there, all dressed up to the max as a Mummy!

I shit you not!!

He jumps back!! And I jump out..

Quick-cut to THIS SONG.. "You Can Call Me Al"… where I pop-out as this mummy character and we both start dancing, and bopping around the stage hysterically for the remaining duration of the song.

The whole thing makes zero sense, but believe me, it was quite the production! The audience went bizerk, and we got rave reviews !! :)

Not exactly the caliber of acting fantasies I had as a kid like I mentioned in Television, Acting, & The 80′s.. but an stellar performance and an awesome memory none the less!!
